Hummas (Israel)
Yield 1 3/4 Cups.
3 Green Onions sliced
3 or 4 garlic cloves
1 - 19 ounce can garbanzo beans - drained
1/4 Cup Chopped Fresh parsley
2 Tbls. lemon juice
½ tsp salt
Dash hot pepper sauce
½ tsp pepper
1/4 cup olive oil.
Position knife blade in food processor bowl; add green onions and garlic. Process until minced. Add beans and next 5 ingredients. Process until smooth, scraping side of bowl. Slowly pour olive oil through food chute with processor running. Process until smooth. Spoon in bowl - garnish with fresh parsley. Cover and Chill. Serve with toasted pita bread.
